East Wood (PG)

Mark let Shadow rest here, the house's ruins blocked much of the wind and snow. Mark walked into the grove, careful not to disturb anything. Anili was passed out by two trees that were closer together than any other. She was starting to form some frost bite on her hands. Mark bite his lip, and walked over to her.

Andy hopped off Teddy and followed Mark. He said quitely, "Put her on Teddy, I'll walk with them. That old horse can tell when he needs to behave."

Mark nodded, and easily lifted Anili up. His lip started to bleed as he bit it again. He was obviously worried. He said, "Her breathing is low. We need to hurry." He set her onto Teddy's back, and made sure she wouldn't fall.

Andy nodded, "I can't go faster than a walk though."

Mark said, "Once we get back up the hill, you two can ride Shadow. He can carry you both. I'll ride Ghost, and lead Teddy back with Marie."

Andy nodded, "I still can't go much faster." This was all too familair, he shivered.

Mark said, "She's gonna die if we don't get her back to the barn, and fast, Andy. She's been in the snow too long, the frost bite it cutting off all her circulation." He swung himself into his saddle.

Andy nodded, he knew that, this wasn't his first time dealing with the snow. He clucked to Teddy who moved into a slow jog. Andy tried to slow him down but the gelding wouldn't go any slower. They reached the top of the hill.

Mark followed quickly, Shadow making quit work up the hill. Mark jumped off the stallion's back, and walked over to Teddy. He lifted Anili off the gelding, and onto Shadow's back. He said, "Get on, Andy, you're gonna have to get him to run hard. She's fading....fast." Marie looked worried, her eyes starting to tear up.

Andy nodded and hopped on Shadow Knoght behind Anili. He squeazed the horses sides and they were gone.

Bill was past being worried now, he called Mark, "What is going on?"

Mark answered his phone, "We found them. Anili passed out from the cold, and she's not doing too well. Andy's riding as fast as he can back to the barn on Shadow. Get a doctor in there." He took Ghost's lead with his other hand as Marie took hold of Teddy.

Bill said, "I'll do what I can. Be careful Mark." He hung up and paced back and forth, how could he get a doctor here?

Andy got back to the barn quickly, about thirty minutes later. He jumped off shadow and slid Anili off.

Luke said, "Isn't that Tony kid a doctor? He boards a horse here, right?"

Mark shoved his phone back into his pocket, and slid onto Ghost's back. Marie started off with Teddy and Yucan, and Mark followed close behind.

Bill nodded, "Yeah!" He pulled out his phone again and called Marie, "Marie is Tony still here?"

Marie answered her phone, "No, he left a while back, but his hosiptal is only a mile away from the stables."

"Great can you call him and tell him to get over here. If parks in the street he can walk into the stable." Bill walked out into the isle to look for Andy.

Marie replied, "Of course." She hung up, and called Tony. She hung up, and called Bill again, "He's on his way."

Tony pulled his big jacket on, and grabbed his medic supplies, and threw them into his bag. He hurried up the road towards the barn.

Bill walked up the drive to meet Tony.

Tony was panting when he got there, but hurried on when he reached the barn.

Bill saw him and said, "Anili is down in my office."

Tony nodded, and hurried to his patient.


Mark and Marie got there soon. They got to work taking care of the horses, escesially Teddy and Ghost, as the two would have probably had the worst effects from the storm.

Andy walked over and said, "You two go meet Bill and Tony, I'll take of these two and Shadow Knight."

Mark nodded, and he and Marie headed off to Bill's office.

Tony was looking over Anili's body. He looked worried as he set up portable IV. He said, "Get her some blankets and hot water."

Andy looked over Teddy. The old gelding was starting to cough. Andy covered him in a few heavy blankets and led him to the back barn. He came back and looked over Shadow Knight, aside from being tired the horse looked okay. Andy threw some plankets on him and went to look at Yucan. The gelding looked the same as shadow knight. Ghost on the other hand looked pretty bad. He was keeping weight off of one foot.

Luke walked out after awhile to see if he could help help any. He spotted Andy, "Anything I can do?"
