The Last Stand (PG-13)

"Stab me,and twist the dagger why don't ya."He muttered,then started to explain."Okie and I,well our past is dark.Nileve,Lily,and I did not know each other personally,and I didn't know you or Rimmon."

Bambi's brow furrowed as she thought of his explination..
"Oh, so that's how...um...care to talk about...your history?" she asked cautiously.
"Sometimes it's good to talk about it." she said softly.

"Im ashamed of it,is all.Bad memories,tis where I got these scars."Meca pulled a lock of his hair out of his face to reveal claw marks over his right eye,they were over it a little ways,and continued under it a few centimeters.Then he let go of it,and his hair flopped back over it.

Bambi frowned, her expression softer.
"Oh." she whispered as his hair dropped back down into place. She dared to touch his right cheek, sympathizing.
"I'm sorry I brought it up." she said as she pulled her hand back.

"Tis not a problem lassie."He said,trying to lighten the mood with a Irish accent.

Bambi chuckled.
"Is that teh best you can do, lad? I sure hope it is not." she challenged, her tone sounding of a scotland woman's.

"Me de'r las,be tru' none ta challenge a tru'a Irish man.Lassie,beh wise!"He grinned.

Bambi put on a smile and mock-pouted.
"Fine, you win." she laughed.

Meca grinned,"See ya are pretty,and wise."He winked at her and laughed.

Nileve laughed, and leaned onto Azane's head,"Ahh....true love. Beautiful isn't it, Azane?" The mare whinned, and replied,"Yes, it is. Tis sweeter than the blooms of Everdale, where my heart lies." Nileve laughed, and leaned back up,"Alright, dearie, let's move a bit faster. You really ready to run?" Azane threw her head back in sheer excitment,"Of course, my lady!" The mare jumped, and a cloud caught her. Nileve had charmed her horse with a storm stone, giving her powers over storm, and flight. Nileve laughed, and let the mare really race, no bounds to hold her. As the horse galloped across the skies, Nileve watched the village come to veiw.

Bambi shrugged, grinning bashufully.
"Oh, not really." she said, twidling her thumbs as she felt an awkwardness in the pit of her stomach. No one had ever really called her pretty before. Quickly wanting to change the subject, she looked up.
"How much longer until we reach the village?" she called anxiously. She was still nervous that they may remember her.

"A mile or so.So probably about twenty minutes."Rimmon called back,grinning at the blushing Bambi.

"What she just said."Meca grinned.

Bambi gave a small, nervous nod of her head.
She turned her attention to Meca, giggling slightly.
"So, twenty more minutes...what do you want to talk about now?" she asked.

Okie said,"Unless you want Nileve to beat us there." He pointed up to the sky as he rode next to Rimmon,"I hope she remembers Ikica is on there with her."

Rimmon laughed,"Oh,that would be bad if Ikica fell off.Well,then we better speed up from this slow pace.Meca,Bambi,we're going to speed up."Then she squeezed Masierini into a canter,and she loped along.

Meca nodded,and asked Nona for a faster pace.

Bambi wrapped her arms tightly around Meca's waist, a blush illuminating her cheeks.
"Sorry. I just...don't like going fast." she mummbled, keeping her gaze away from him.

"It's okay.Ill keep Nona at just her canter,okay?Imagine that you're sitting on a rocking chair."Meca told her,looking at her over his shoulder.

Bambi gave a small nod of her head.
"Sure. Thanks." she said, looking at her lap.

Okie laughed, and asked Shadow Knight to go faster. The horse surged forward, into a strong canter. Her heard Lily at his side, laughing at her sister.

"Did you fall off a horse at sometime,or something?What made you fear going fast,at least on a horse?"He asked,the realization hitting him.

Arros raced after Okie, his bay stallion had...um...had some....never mind, and now was pushing to catch back up. Not that the black mare in the sky was a good hint on where to go.

Bambi looked on sadly.
"I've fallen off before many times, and yes, I'm scared. But there's more to it. It...brings back...memories. My mother and I used to ride horses together. We loved going fast and it was our thing. It was one of her favorite things to do. And...she..." Bambi could feel her throat go dry.
"So yeah. After that, I tried riding, but it was hard doing it alone. I fell off alot, and since then, I can't stand going fast." she sighed.

"Don't forgot you've got me now.And neither Nona,nor I will let you fall."He smiled at her,a understanding,compassionate smile.

Rimmon smiled at Okie,and to herself as she thundered past him,grinning.Masierni's silver striped neck and mane glowed.Well the silver streaks did,not the actual horse.The silver stripes running throughout his mane and tail,along with his body glew with a unearthly color.

A small smile crept onto Bambi's face.
"Thank you. That's nice to know." she whispered, feeling that sadness creep away.

"You're welcome."Meca smiled,as they loped along,quite lazily actually.
